I first became interested in art as a young boy watching my mum create these beautiful pictures with a piece of paper and a pencil. I would sit for hours trying to recreate some of the drawings my mum had finished and being very young, they just didn't look like i had imagined in my head. I continued to draw and paint as i grew and before i knew it people were complimenting me on my gift. I passed my G.C.S.E in art, but being young i wasn't serious about the direction and it became more of a hobby and was asked to do the odd portrait of children and pets here and there. In 2014 i was approached to run art classes weekly in a homeless hostel and later that year was commissioned to complete my first piece by the art class employer which was "Ipswich Uni" this was acrylic paint on a large 72" x 48" canvas. this took roughly 3 months to complete and the customer was very pleased with the final result. A few years passed and i wanted to do something different, something i hadn't seen before. One morning i awoke after having a dream that i had created an art piece of elephants using just recycled newspaper and P.V.A glue, using headlines as the deep lines/grooves and columns of text for rough skin textures. an idea was born. i was keen to see if this vision could actually work, i had a spare canvas so got started straight away. I wanted to do this to show that you could create art by using recycled newspaper, giving the message you can create beauty out of something that does not cost much. I have created many pieces all having their own individual meanings. I had the opportunity of showing these at the Apex Art and Craft exhibit and had some great comments and feedback from the public. I am always having new ideas of ways to create my next pieces of art and am going to create a piece using plastic as a material. Thinking about the current situation with the plastic pollution in the world today. I like the art that i create to tell a story or send a message in some way. Art has always been in my life and always will and i will continue to enjoy producing my art.
